Festival of Quilts 2021 - Page 2The formal and invited exhibits were not a numerous as in former years, but the quality was high on the whole. Notable that only a very few were not from the UK

I don't think I have ever seen so much Liberty fabric before at Festival, on many of the stands, in exhibits, and in many of the competition quilts...

I got to stand (and be interviewed) in front of my Modern Jazz Quilt in the QGBI exhibition of "Quilts and Their Makers" and this was extrapolated to make the banner (and I was in very good company)

And our lovely friend Vendulka won Best In Show for the quilt she and Olivier made together - Olivier designed; Vendulka quilted/embroidered; both painted; named by their son...

The SAQA exhibit "Ebb and Flow" had some really interesting pieces. Left is "Closure, below "Counting The Days"

Sheila Frampton-Cooper made it all the way from the USA with her astonishing pieced and quilted compositions... |

Admired the Miniatures (sadly most of these were embroideries, not quilts, but this s a worthy winner - MN18, by Maria Dzreeva - this is mostly shadow-work under a very fine organza and seeded with tiny beads..
